Facts about Alternative music

1. Alternative Rock (also known as Alternative music, alt-rock, or just alternative) is a genre of rock music that started in the 1980's and started becoming popular in the 1990's/


2. There are many Alternative Rock bands such as All Time low, a band formed in 2003 and even The Red Hot Chili Peppers, from 1983. (click here to see the list)


3. Alternative music is widely popular among teenages and adults, music from a lot of bands are Alternative music.


4. Many artists win Vmas awards from MTV for Alternative music. Green day won tons of awards this year.


5. Alternative music came from underground bands from the 80's.

Introduction to Alternative Music

I chose to blog about alternative music because it's my favorite type of music. I love listening to bands like All Time Low or Mayday Parade. Though I am a big fan of rock music too, alternative music suits my taste more. It's a little bit softer and you can understand the lyrics better, and I like that cause the lyrics are essential to the song. I love to surf around itunes looking for new albums. One album just previously came out by Mayday Parade called "Anywhere But Here", I enjoy listening to it because i can somewhat relate to the lyrics of some of the songs.
